№ 01 / Overview

The Azure admin who actually owns the subscription.

This learning path is designed to help you prepare for the AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator exam. Even if you don't plan to take the exam, the courses and hands-on labs will help you get started on your way to becoming an Azure administrator.

The AZ-104 exam replaced the AZ-103 exam (retired August 31, 2020). This exam is part of Microsoft's role-based certification program. Candidates who pass the AZ-104 exam will earn the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification — one of the most in-demand cloud credentials on the market.

The AZ-104 exam tests your knowledge of five subject areas, and that's how we've structured this Learning Path as well. We start with managing Azure identities and governance. Next, we get into implementing and managing storage, including Azure Storage and Azure File Sync. Then you learn to deploy and manage compute resources. After that, configuring and managing enterprise-grade virtual networks. Finally, monitoring and backing up Azure resources.

Who this is for: IT professionals who want to become Azure administrators, IT professionals preparing for Microsoft's AZ-104 exam. Prerequisites: general knowledge of IT architecture.

Implementing and managing storage, including Azure Storage and Azure File Sync. Storage accounts, replication, access tiers, lifecycle management. Blob, file, queue and table services. Storage Explorer, AzCopy.
Deploying and managing compute resources. Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, ARM templates and Bicep. App Service, App Service Plans. Container Instances and AKS basics.
Configuring and managing enterprise-grade virtual networks. VNets, subnets, NSGs, ASGs. Public IPs, load balancers, Application Gateway. Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute. VNet peering, private endpoints, DNS.
